Re-Elect Tony Mullin for School Committee

Dear Westwood Friends,

As mothers of current students and alumni of the Westwood Public Schools, we care deeply about our district. We are recommending you cast one of your two votes for School Committee on April 26 to re-elect Tony Mullin.

When Tony first ran for Westwood School Committee six years ago, he raised awareness for the need to focus on the Whole Child in our schools. Tony has been a tireless advocate for mental and social-emotional health in Westwood Public Schools. His efforts have directly led to Westwood adding additional counselors, social workers, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) resources. He continues to be passionate about these topics, as he is leading the subcommittee that is looking at adjusting the high school start times to support better physical and mental health for adolescents.

We have been impressed with Tony’s thoughtful approach; he makes practical, “common sense” decisions. He especially demonstrated these skills over the past two years while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Tony always listens to different perspectives and seeks out guidance from subject-matter experts. While we may not agree with every decision, we admire how Tony listens to all perspectives and his goal is to always make the best decision for the 3,000 children in our Westwood Public schools.

Most importantly, we have seen first-hand what an exemplary father he is to his two daughters, Katie and Maggie. He prioritizes and advocates for their needs, and has consistently been supportive, encouraging, open, and engaged in their lives. Tony approaches his role as a School Committee member the same way he approaches fatherhood - he works as hard for our kids as he does for his own children.
