At 1:00 p.m., children are invited to participate (for $1.00 registration) the Children's Bicycle, Tricycle, Doll Carriage and Historic Character Parade. Participants receive a t-shirt and ribbon, and a chance to be judged for best decorations.
At 2:00 p.m., Frederick Douglass's "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July" is recited in the Old Parish Cemetery (rear of Washington Street).
At 2:30 p.m. a live Carillon Concert begins at town center.
At 5:00 p.m. is the annual Firecracker 5K Road Race, with registration open through 7:00 p.m. on July 2nd.
At 5:30 p.m., a second parade begins. The route begins at Coakley Middle School, proceeds down Washington Street, and ends at Town Hall.
