Applicants Sought for Canton Street Redesign Working Group

Westwood's Select Board is seeking applicants to quickly form a working group for the Canton Street redesign project. The board invites interested volunteers to email the board at bos@townhall.westwood.ma by the close of business on Monday, November 20, 2023.

Select Board voted on October 23rd this year to approve a new design for Canton Street, following large public outcry from many residents. Residents were unhappy with the current design that seeks to improve safety, but at the cost of Canton's Street's scenic character.

Select Board Chair Marianne LeBlanc Cummings noted that the working group should be fairly small to be functional, and will be a "fully public process."
