Towns in the Westwood area set off the fireworks early this year. If you haven't caught sight of them yet, you have another chance.
In Newton on July 4th, the fireworks start slightly after 9:00 p.m., with viewing at Albermarle Field. In fact, there's a whole day of Independence Day programming in Newton. A Kids Morning runs from 10:00 a.m. to noon, a carnival begins at 1:00 p.m., and musical performances begin at 2:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., the headliner band, East Coast Soul takes the stage.
While Norwood hasn't announced any fireworks, a schedule of fun programming awaits visitors on July 4th, with parades in both morning and the afternoon, and programming that includes a Carillon Concert in between.
Just in case you miss seeing fireworks in person this year, enjoy this clip from Walpole's Night Before the 4th celebration by clicking here or on the X link below.
Happy Independence Day!
Sunny, with a high of 92 and low of 68 degrees. Sunny during the morning, clear overnight.
The article title is VERY misleading; Summer Street is NOT being paved this year.
Thanks for raising that point, Brandon! The headline has now been changed to more clearly communicate that the article describes a summer schedule of street paving. I agree the initial headline could easily be read to mean, incorrectly, that Summer Street is being paved. Thanks for the helpful comment.
New Director of Human Resources. Money better spent towards the increased maintenance of the new Pine Hill megaplex or hiring aids.
Amazing. We must be flush with cash. Or will be beginning August 1st.
